Hi,

Local dependencies :

They are only available to the object for which you create them

You cannot use the central maintenance functions on these dependencies

You create local dependencies specifically for one object, and cannot assign them to several objects. You can only change the dependency by changing this object only.

Please refer this,

http://help.sap.com/search/highlightContent.jsp

Hope clear to you.

Hi,

I have one class and few characteristic.

one of the characteristic has certain values and on their values some dependency is written. I can see the dependency on the values in cl03 display mode.

but if i open the characteristic in ct04 the dependency is not showing.

this seems that the dependency is a local.

In this case how to modify the dependency..

I want to change the dependency..

Hi BNR,

I tried to change the dependency using cu02 but . not able to open it and it throws error "Local dependencies cannot be maintained centrally"

is there any other way to change the dependency..

Hi Shiv

In CT04, there is no reason why the dependancy can not be seen if it is assigned. Just open char in Ct04. goto extra, select OD and next editor.

If u r not able to see the OD in CT04 for the char then I think the dependancy is not linked with that.

U also mentioned that in CL03, the dependancy can be seen. I mean from CL03, r u going to char screen and see the OD? If yes, OD is assigned to char which can be seen and edited as I described above.

Otherwise I believe the OD is linked in class itself and not to char.

Pls confirm

Hi,

It appears that the dependancy has been defined at class level.

You should be able to change it in CL02 if not at CT04.

Else You can change the local dependency as follows.

Transaction - PMEVC

Enter material and class type

Open the structure... Then open the structure for the variant class (300/200/23)

Choose your charcteristic and open its structure. Double click on the dependency

On the RH side a window opens up. Click on the editor tab. click on the change icon on right side top.

Now you can change your local dependency.

Hi Shiv,

Local Dependency can not be change through Central Function CU02.

You have to change it at the specific object where it is assign.

If you have assign it to characteristic then go to CT04 and change it there.

If you don't know the object then Find it through Where used list.

Go to CU02/CU03 -

> On the main transaction screen ---> Tools ---> where used list.

Now how to change Dependency in characteristic.

Go to CT04 select the characteristic --->Go to Object Dependency Tab ---> Select Dependency ---> Go to Dependency Editor.Change it at here.

Hi BNR,

The OD is linked in class itself and not to char.

I am able to change it now.

I used following method.

Opened class in change mode then selected the characteristic and click on overwrite button in below status bar then the characteristic is opened and double click on OD it is opened in edit mode..

Thanks

Shiv
