How can a user open " .wid " file?

Hi,

After a successful scheduling of a web intelligent document, how can a user open that file which include .wid extension by Business objects? Plz help.....

What version of BO are you using? BO XI3.0 includes a rich client for Webi that can handle .WID files on user desktops.

The .wid file needs to in the file store, only then you'll be able to open it through infoview. Follow the following steps to accomplish this:

Keep the .wid file on your machines' desktop.

Create a new Webi report and save it.

Find out the path of this new document using CMC. - (A)

Copy the name of the .wid file.

Rename the file that you have placed on your desktop with this new file name.

Copy this renamed file and paste it on the path in step (A).

It would prompt you that there exist a file with the same name, hence say yes to replace the file.

Logon to Infoview and open the report you created, it would open up your required .wid file.
