Hi Sai ram,
You can use WebDav or Portal Drive to transfer folders and files from the Portal into your local drive.
1) WebDav
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/4a/217fb6c33c6748a1715a161ac942cd/frameset.htm
2) Portal Drive:
Portal Drive - Simply Use Windows Explorer to Access Your Documents in the SAP NetWeaver Portal
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/42/e6753939033ee5e10000000a1553f7/content.htm
Both methods works like file transfer. For WebDav, you open your Windows Explorer and map the Portal KM directory into your Windows Explorer. Thus, its "copy" and "paste".
For Portal drive, its an separate application you run and from the Portal KM directory you specify, you can also download the necessary folder/files.
Useful PDF about the Interoperability between SAP NetWeaver Portal and Microsoft SharePoint Technologies, which contains some topics about WebDav, which could be useful for you.
Hope that helps.
