Hi,
Login as the <sid>adm and run the sapstartsrv.exe from the
...\usr\sap\<sid>\sys\exe\run directory.
Give the necessary details and try, it might work. You may
also want to check the database files/logs in Enterprise
Manager.
Hope it helps, do let us know what's happening.
Regards
Srikishan

Hi AK,
Thanx for the reply.
I did the following and the command executed properly.
C:\usr\sap\J2E\SYS\exe\run>STARTSAP.EXE name=J2E nr=00 SAPDIAHOST=bhardwaj1
I also found the monitoring files, and the results were as follows.
C:\usr\sap\J2E\SYS\exe\run>icmon
icmon=>sapparam(1c): No Profile used.
icmon=>sapparam: SAPSYSTEMNAME neither in Profile nor in Commandline IcmShmCreate failed - possibly no ICM/WebDisp running

hi Saurabh
go to control panel --> Add/Remove programs. See if your server is installed there. Just see, do nothing else.
Restart your computer. and start SAPMMC again in your Local User id (j2eadm - i guess). Might be your User access rights problem.
If nothing else works,
Stop the server (i guess its already dead just kidding.) Install Central Instance again. Just the CI. You should be able to see the entries in your SAPMMC.
lemme know if this worked. the last one was told to me under such a circumstance but before i could try, some miracle happened and i was able to fix it.
Regards
arun.
PS: can you please remove the big trace you have put.

hi,

you can have it - my yahoo id is on my Business card. but i'm afraid i can't access yahoo messenger in my office

> Server initially.
Yes. You have a Central Instance and a Dialogue Instance. Just choose to install Central Instance alone. that should work.
> Is CI the same as Custom Installation?
No. CI is Central Instance.

arun.
Hi,
*control panel --> Add/Remove programs. The server is <b>not</b> installed there.
Restarted my computer. Started SAPMMC again in Local User id (j2eadm). J2eadm is a member of the Administrator group. Nothing happened, Still No listings in SAPMMC.
If nothing else works,
I executed the "SAPinst.exe" -> Java Installation -> "Custom Installation". It asked wether to install "old Installation" or "new Installation". And if i choose "new installation", after that it starts installing the entire set up again as it did the first time installation of SAP WAS.
Also, I do not get any option of installing <b>only</b> the CENTRAL INSTANCE. How do i install only the central instace <b>alone</b>?
One more thing, which i think wub be of importance is that in the services console of control panel of my machine, where i can see all the services, initially there were (SAPJ2E_00 & SAPJ2E_01) these two services, but now there is only SAPJ2E_01 service which is not running. Can u tell me something about these two and other required SAP services.
Thanx <b>FOR ALL YOUR HELP</b>
Bhardwaj

Repeat Your first step (the step which you did during your maiden installation) again. That will reinitialize your SAPMMC and create instances

SAPJ2E_00 - is your Central Instance of your Server.
Central instance has your Message server and Enqueue Server.
SAPj2E_01 - is your Dialogue Instance of your Server.
This will have your Dispatcher.
These two services correspond to your server. if SAPJ2E_00 is missing, its a clear case of deletion. what i said - redo the first step alone - should work.

Hi AK,
Thanx for all the help.
When u say <b>'First Step'</b>, is it the reinstallation by executing <u><b>sapinst.exe in I386 folder</b></u> ? if it is a reinstallation, then as i asked before, when i run the installation package, it asks wether to <b>Run a new Installation</b> or <b>Continue old installation</b>, which one do i choose?
>Repeat Your <b>first step (the step which you did during your maiden installation)</b> again. That will reinitialize your SAPMMC and create instances.
Are the <b>'first steps'</b>, the same as all the steps that i followed when i first installed the server for the first time? If not then, how do i do the first steps. Is it First Step or Step<u><i><b>s</b></i></u> ?
Can i send u a snapshot of the installation (First Steps) on ur yahoo mail ?
Thanx again Arun.
Reagrds,
Bhardwaj.
Hi
> asks wether to <b>Run a new Installation</b> or
> <b>Continue old installation</b>, which one do i
> choose?
Choose Run a new installation. You want to rewrite the instances on your computer again.
and be careful when you give the parameters. You need to give the parameters which you gave during the initial installation. otherwise the dialogue instance will get confused and you will end up running dialogue instance installation again.
btw, stop the dialogue instance service before you do any of these things.
>Is it First Step or
> Step<u><i><b>s</b></i></u> ?
its only the FIRST <b>STEP</b>.
regards
arun.
PS: are you running it on a production environment or just a test/demo environment?
Hi AK,
I did it exactly the way you told me to and it gave me the following error.
<u><b>sapccmsr.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.</b></u>
I have heard that once u have installed the server and if it crashes and then if u try to reinstall it, it gives errors. I think that is what has happened.
Also, after i closed that small error window, the installation does not stop, It continiues and now it has got stuck at <u><b>'LOAD JAVA DATABASE CONTENT'</b></u>. in the installation window in which it shows what all it is installing. It has been on this stage since 1 and a half hour.
I have not stopped the installation , it is (i think) still in hang mode,Should i force stop the installation? or should i restart it again? I am waiting for ur reply.
Thanx.
Bhardwaj

hi
<b>Load Database Content</b> Takes a lot of time in any of the installation.
i have a feeling your server has crashed. again, just as i said if you are running it in demo/test application, the best bet is to reinstall again.
but if you ask me about Load Database Content time, Yes, It takes a long time but i can't be specific how long it will take.
Regards,
arun.
Hi AK,
Some good news.
We thought that the installation process had hanged, after it took about 2 hours at<b> Load Database Content</b> and we aborted the installation process, and thought of reinstalling the server again. But when we opened SAPMMC, there was a listing for <b>Dispacher instance - 01</b>. But the central instance is still not there.
Anyways, we are reinstalling the server.
I thank you for all the help. I have your yahoo mail ID. Will certainly write u a mail when ever i have a problem again.
Also, what is your mail id that u check everyday? so that in case i need to contact u urgently, i can mail it there.
Thanx for all the help again. Ur Points !!!!!
