Change of UOM

Dear all,

While changing the Base Unit of Measure from PC to EA, the following error message appeared :

The base unit of measure cannot be changed.

The reasons for this are:

Routings already exist that are assigned to the material.

RType RtgGrp GpC Plant

Q 292 1 1000

Q 292 2 1000

-

---

Please advise how I should go about solving it?

Hi,

This is SAP standard functionality that once the material is used in any Master Data or transaction or stock exits for material then it does not allow you to change the Base UoM of the material.

First you have to delete all the master data, complete or close all open transactions and nill all the stock of the material and then try.

Here in this case, you have to first delete the Routing already created for the material.

Go to CA02 and try to delete the routing of this material and take help of PP Consultant also since routing is part of PP Module.
