SAP ITS installation error

Hello,

i got an error while installing ITS 6.20 on LINUX 2.4:

here are the error logs:

ERROR 2008-09-17 09:08:21

MUT-03011 Execution of the command "/tmp/sapinst_exe.26248.1221612478/SAPCAR -x -v -g -i -n -flat -R ./config -f /tmp/NW_7.0

Presentation/SERV1/ITS/ITSSOFT/UNIX/LINUX_32/CONFIG.SAR," finished with return code 29. Output:

SAPCAR: no archives specified for extracting (error 29).

ANCE_NAME was executed with status ERROR .

please help finding solution.

FCO-00011 The step Start_all_ITS_Instances with step key |ITS_CORE_UNIX|ind|ind|ITS|630|0|0|Start_all_ITS_Instances was executed with status ERROR .

We have found the solution for the error above.

Solution:

1) Start itsIACOR.sh manually using user 'itsadm'. (e.g.: ./itsIACOR.sh start)

2) Retry step in the installation.

hello,

i am able to resolve the above error but i had encounter again an error:

• Transaction begin ********************************************************

INFO 2008-09-17 16:53:15

Call the itsmanage library for service: startService, instance name webgui , installation directory /usr/sap/its/6.20

• Transaction end **********************************************************

ERROR 2008-09-17 16:54:15

anyone have idea on this error?

the sapinst installer was running under root. do i need to run as itsadm?

i was a able to resolved the errors above. Now i have problem staring the ITS.

here is the error:

[itsadm@ITS bin]$ sh itsIACOR.sh start

ITS[IACOR] : starting ... done

[itsadm@ITS bin]$ sh itswebgui.sh start

ITS[webgui] : starting ... failed ( pidfile missing )

"PIDfile is missing" - > any idea how to get this resolved?

anyway im running ITS 6.20 on RedHat Linux 2.4.

with Apache webserver

hello,

the PID file missing is mmanager.pid which should be reside at /usr/sap/ITS/6.20/<ITS instance>/trace/

i wonder why it is missing.

anyone has experience this problem?

Apply this SAP Note# 635592

SAP fixed this issue in Patch 5.

My SAP ITS installation was the latest one from OSS. ive checked /etc/services and looks OK.
