READ DATASET returning "#" character between rows...

Hello, Experts.

I'm using the following OPEN DATASET statement to open a text file I uploaded from my PC to the application server via CG3Z:

OPEN DATASET gv_inbdfile FOR INPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.

There are only two records in the file. However, I'm getting 3 records in my itab with the READ DATASET statement. In debug mode, the "extra" row between the first and second is "#".

I've opened the file on my PC in a hex editor and there are 0D 0A pairs at the end of each row of data but I don't see anything else out of the ordinary. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

When using transaction CG3Z, try using ASCII mode for transfer. This should convert the windows(PC) end of line character to Unix(App Server) end of line character.
