Call 'System' ID 'Command'

I am using the following command to execute an Unix command. But it is throwing an error. The Return code is 08. Can anyone help me in interpreting the meaning of the return code.

CALL 'SYSTEM' ID 'COMMAND' FIELD WS_FTP1 ID 'TAB' FIELD WS_RET_TAB-SYS.

if you could tell us what you are trying to do with this UNIX command , we may come up with a alternate method
