SMTP_E_TRANSACTION_FAILED(554)

Getting this error when scheduling reports in Crystal Server and sending reports outside of the company.

Failed

Printer: The instance is not printed.

External Destination: Mail the instance to: "[samplemail@yahoo]" and carbon copy the instance to: "[user@company" with a subject of: "Test Report" .

End Time: 9/16/2008 10:18 AM

Server Used: rptserver.reportjobserver

Error Message: address error. CrystalEnterprise.Smtp: SMTP_E_TRANSACTION_FAILED(554)

Solved problem by installing SMTP on the local Crystal server.

Hi Wes,

The email address you're mailing to, does it contain special characters, or is it a distribution list? Are you scheduling the report with an attachment?

Are you able to use mailman from the jobserver machine to send smtp to the specified address?
