can any one tell me ODS process chain design.

What are the vartiants to be included in an ods process chain

Hi Priya,

Process chains allows you to take care of data load dependencies, schedule jobs in parallel and schedule at various times, without manual intervention.

by using process chain we can define the steps one after the other and just start it it will do the steps defined one after the other.

For creation of chains you can refer to help.sap.com

Try to go through the links and you will know how to creat a chain.Creation of chains is not a big deal but you will have to take into account various Process Types ,what are there uses.Like some important process Types which you will have to use while creation of chains:

Execute InfoPackage

Read PSA and Update Data Target

Save Hierarchy

Update DataStore Object Data (Further Update)

Data Export into External Systems

Delete Overlapping Requests from InfoCube

Data Transfer Process

Close Request of InfoPackage (RDA/Push)

Trigger Event Data Change (for Broadcaster)

Delete Index

Generate Index

Construct Database Statistics

Initial Fill of New Aggregates

Initial Activation and Filling of BIA Indexes

its very simple (assuming that u r in BW 3.x)

1. Start varinat

2. Add Infopak the fills ODS

3. Add the variant Activate Infopak

Thats all
