Hi,
I have a KM folder which has around 80 documents. The content order is all jumbled. I tried both Manual Ordering and Disabled Manual Ordering. I want to sort it according to the Modified Date. Is this possible?
If so, could you please let me know.
Thanks,
Ajay
Hi Ajay,
As mentioned by Bobu, when you navugate to KM folders, the only way I know of is to click on the "modified", which is next to "modified by". This will help you sort out in acending or decending order of the modification.
Pino's suggestion is mainly when you are using a navigation iview to point to a location in the KM. With the help of layout set and the settings mentioned by Pino, your KM navugation iview will present by either "creation date" or "modified date".
Hope that helps.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your replies.
I have a Navigation iview which is pointing to a KM folder. I went to the Layout set which is corresponding to my iview, and set the Sort Property as "modified" and Sort Mode as "descending". I also checked the property 'Sort Enabled'. I saved the settings. But when I refreshed the iview page, it doesnt reflect any change. I even did a ctrl + f5, log off-log in. But still the folder displayed in the iview is shown with jumbled contents.
Does this require a system restart, or am I missing something here?
Thanks,
Ajay
Hi Ajay,
Should not need a restart and the changes should be immediate. You need to tell your iview to use the new layout set that you have changed, so that it takes the change settings.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/b6/29892e91601940bb7a2cd673a1dff5/frameset.htm
1) Path to initially displayed folder
2) Path to root folder for navigation
3) Layout Set
4) Layout Set Mode
Hope that helps.

Hi Ajay,
Definitely u don't require a restart
Can u check the Nav Iview property?
Check the layout set mode
It should be set to "exclusive".
And also 1 more thing. When u check the layouts,
thats in Sys Config-> KM->Content Management-> User Interfaces->Settings->Layout Set
select the layout that u have mentioned in the
iView property and hit the preview button, and there u give the
folder path. Check whether it is coming in the desired way...

BP
Hi,
Thanks a lot for your suggestions. The Layout set mode is 'exclusive'.
I checked the Preview of the Layout set and gave the folder path, but thats still showing unsorted.
In the iview properties, I see a property called "Layout Set for Root Collection". do I need to mention anything here?
Thanks,
Ajay
Hi Ajay,
If the preview is not showing the desired way, then it is the
problem with layout.
Please post the layout details.
The collection render and resource renderer used.
In the same thread mention the properties that is set/unset for
both the collection and resource renderers.
We can fix it.

Hi Ajay,
U need to add the "modified" in the displayed properties.
Displayed Properties: rnd:icon,rnd:displayname(contentLink),rnd:description,jup:DetailsColumn
In here u need to add
Displayed Properties: rnd:icon,rnd:displayname(contentLink),rnd:description,jup:DetailsColumn+rnd:modified
Otherwise u wont see or feel the sorting...

Hi BP,
I changed the following property in the Collection Renderer Settings:
Old value:
Displayed Properties: rnd:icon,rnd:displayname(contentLink),rnd:description,jup:Details
New value:
Displayed Properties: rnd:icon,rnd:displayname(contentLink),rnd:description,jup:Details+rnd:modified
But still there is no change in the folder sort order.
I noticed one thing, not sure if its important. If you look at the previous thread with all the settings, in the settings of the Collection Renderer '_Jup_Documents_And_Forms_NODATE', another collection renderer '_Jup_Submissions' is mentioned.
Here is the settings of this collection renderer:
Name: JupSubmissions

Hi Ajay
Collection Renderer: _Jup_Submissions
Just for a trial, change the collection renderer to "CollectionListRenderer".
And also,
Displayed Properties: rnd:icon,rnd:displayname(contentLink),rnd:description,jup:SubmissionDate,jup:Details
make this as
Displayed Properties: rnd:icon,rnd:displayname(contentLink),rnd:description,modified,jup:SubmissionDate,jup:Details
Now i also want to check the following, while previewing the layout,
1. When u change the, Collection Renderer: JupSubmissions, is there any business change?
2. After u change the displayed props, do u see the "modified date" coming in the layout?
3. Do u see in the layout, the column headers are coming as clickable?
4. if u change the property to sort to "rnd:displayname", do u see the layout coming sorted in names?
Regards
BP
Hi BP,
Here are the test results for each scenario:
Before making the Collection Renderer: "_Jup_Submissions", to "CollectionListRenderer":
When I do a Preview of the Layout Set '_Jup_Submissions', I get the content in the folder correctly sorted according to date. I see the column headers: Name, Description, Date - all clickable.
When I do a Preview of the Layout Set '_Jup_PoliciesAndProcedures', I get the content in the folder correctly sorted according to date. I see the column headers: Name, Description, Modified - all clickable.
After making the Collection Renderer: "_Jup_Submissions", to "CollectionListRenderer":
When I do a Preview of the Layout Set '_Jup_Submissions', I get the content in the folder correctly sorted according to date. I see the column headers: Name, Description, SubmissionDate - all clickable.
When I do a Preview of the Layout Set '_Jup_PoliciesAndProcedures', I get the content in the folder correctly sorted according to date. I see the column headers: Name, Description, Modified - all clickable. No change in this one frm previous preview.
After making the display property change:
When I do a Preview of the Layout Set '_Jup_Submissions', I get the content in the folder correctly sorted according to date. I see the column headers: Name, Description, Modified, SubmissionDate - all clickable.
When I do a Preview of the Layout Set '_Jup_PoliciesAndProcedures', I get the content in the folder correctly sorted according to date. I see the column headers: Name, Description, Modified - all clickable. No change in this one frm previous preview.
After changing the Sort Property to "rnd:displayname":
The layout preview is coming sorted according to Name.
Even after doing all these changes, the iview is still showing all the folder content sorted by name.
Thanks,
Ajay
Hi Ajay,
Well i am a bit confused but we can still make it fixed.
See do u have a layout which gives the correct display?
U can confirm this only by previewing the layouts thats under discussion.
If the layouts are showing up correctly in ur desired way, we need to check other
ways of Nav iViews taking layouts, which are OTH and Folder Presentations.
But first u confirm that one of ur layouts, shows all the desired columns and its sorted by modified.
Regards
BP
Ajay,
Happy to know that we have a layout fixed.
1 Check the folder that u want
Goto->folder details->Presentation settings
It should be given default, that means, there are no other layouts mentioned there.
2 Check there are other OTH
This u can check by checking the root->etc->oth folder.
There we see all xml files. we need to dig up all the xmls and see there are anything related to
a custom KM path and custom layout.
3 Give a detail prop that u have set for KM Nav iView
4 Give the name of the correct layout the u have developed/identified.
5.Give the folder path also for the KM folder that u want these settings
Check these
Regards
BP
Hi Ajay,
havent u checked the sorting by clicking on the header of the modified date?
The header will be a link and it performs a sort operation.

Hello,
Go to SysTem Administration\System Configuration\Content Management\User interface\settings\Collection Renderer Settings, you have to select your setting and add the properties "modified" into the field Property for Sorting.
I hope it'll help you.
Kind Regards, Pino.
