DataSource Type

Gurus,

I have created a generic DataSource for Material Master in R/3 backend via RSO2 with Transaction Data type. Saved and activated this DataSource in BW. Update Rule created and data loaded into Material Master InfoObject attribute.

I now realised that the DataSource type should be Master Data Attributes instead of Transaction Data. I go back to RSO2 and canu2019t see any option allow me to change it.

How should I goes about this?

Please advice, thanks.

You need to craete a new datasource. You can not changed the type of datasource once defined.

Thanks..

Though time consuming, you have no other option but to create a new DataSource and use it.

Thanks, in that case, do I need to delete the existing one in BW? Then do the replication, transfer rule and update rule all over again?

No, you just delete the DataSource assignment from the Infosource. Then delete the DataSource from RSO2. Create new DataSource in RSO2. Replicate it in BW and then assign it to the InfoSource. There is no need to delete the complete data flow.
