how do i check whether a material is a make to stock or a make to order material.

and how do i run mrp if i am doing my sales order through a production order using co07.

Hi,

To find out whether a material is a make to stock or a make to order material, check the strategy group in material master MRP3 view.

If strategy is not assigned check in MRP group in material master.

If that also not assigned check the requirement in MD62, which requirement type is assigned.

Hi,

In material master in MRP3 view mainatin the MTO Strategy group like 20,50 etc.

The planning strategy for MTS are as 10, 11, 40.Etc

By this way (MRP-3 view strategy group) you can find out the material is MTO or MTS.

IMRP group in material master also have the planing strategy please check in OPPR.

Normally we run MRP in MD50 for MTO or create production order with CO08.

In MTS we run MD01,02,03..Etc.
