Change context-root of WD

Hallo,

is it possible to address a WD with a short URL.

The auto-generated URL for my WD looks like this (just an example):

http://localhost:50000/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/testapp~wd/TestApp

I would like to address the WD with something like this:

http://localhost:50000/testApp

I tried or looked up some things, but nothing helped.

Perhaps a alias can be configured für the WD-application?

I checked the URLs already yesterday when I searched the forum. But I don't think that those solutions are more than a "bad" workaround.

There must be an easy solution for this.

Normally I would change the context-root-tag in the application.xml in the ear-project to get a new URL.

But this somehow doesnot work with WD. On generation the application.xml is overwritten every time.

Perhaps the generation template can be changed.

Btw, we use Netweaver CE 7.1 Web AS without Portal. So the portal-suggestions don't help.

Hi,

I think probobly you need to create an alias to create custom URL based on existing portal URL. I think

You can include predefined portal URL aliases as part of your display rules. But the portal URL aliases uses a gateway mechanism in the portal that enables you to define and configure an alias for a path in the portal URL.

Any portal generates a standard url as http://<hostname>:<port>/<path>/irj/portal/(.......this is the palce where the custom name will be displayed...............)

Probobly you may need a configuration guide how to do this changes in SAP Web AS.

Thanks
