Spreadsheet does not open

I am trying to open an Xcelsius file. I can see the canvas view, but the spreadsheet will not open. in fact, there is no Excel view.

I try to restart my laptop, but I get the error "Cannot Quit MS Excel"

So now my computer will not even turn-off.

Is there a way to work around this without a hard power-off?

Hi Michael,

Have you tried killing the process in task manager? CTRLALTDEL and look for the EXCEL.exe and then end it. Try to open X5 again and see if you can see your spreadsheet.

The Task Manager kill process worked, and the restart made the Xcelsius application work.

Any thought on how I can keep this from happening in the future?

Anyone else having this issue?

I think this is just a random occurence so I am not sure if there is really a way to prevent it from happening.
