Hi,

1. Why Extraction using Functional Module?

Inorder to create generic data source in R/3 side, we need to add a table as data extractor. But if we need to combine two three tables, we will go for view or function module. Suppose, if the different tables are not having common key fields, then how will we do for view creation. In that case we are forced to go for function module data extraction.

2. Benefits?

3. I have an extractor with functional module, how do I find which tables is it using?

There you can see tables tab or you can check in the source code.

1. Why Extraction using Functional Module?

when extraction is not possible in conventional ways, we go for FM. There we have flexibility to ad fields from R/3 as we like to extract to BI.

2. Benefits?

flexibility. useful for upto ate extraction where recent source system data is required.

3. I have an extractor with functional module, how do I find which tables is it using?

goto the FM on the tabs on top you will see a tab called tables. There u will see the tables.

Hi,

When I see the Extractor: RSBX_BIW_GET_ODSDATA and open up the tables:

Under the E_T_Data parameter, I don't see any Associated Type.

Where do I find where its fetching its data/tables from?
