I have just installed SQL 2005 and B1 on a new SB Server and SQL will not start. I get a service specific error 126 (0x7e). I've looked this up in the SAP notes and Microsoft SQL help, but can not find anything. Anyone have ideas as to what to do next?
Hi Kathy
Have a look at the following thread as well:

Hi Kathy
Can you go to My Computer and right click and select Manage. Expand the event viewer and go through the various files. Look for any red crosses and see if there are any other services that SQL might depend on that are also not starting, or if there are any specific errors for SQL.
Let me know.
Kind regards

I found some info outside of the Forums. Searching the WWW with the specific error should get you the answers

Hi Kathy
Did you follow the SAP guidelines to install SQL 2005 found in the documentation for the SAP installation (AdministratorGuide_SQL.PDF)? Can you give me specific info on what steps you took and any selections that were made during the installation? Did you reboot the server after the installation? Is the server configured for IIS?
Let me know so I can look into it for you
Kind regards
