Info required to upgrade the MAXDB Kernel

HI,

We have content server(KPRO) running on MaxDB Database with kernel

version 7.6.01 BUILD 008-123-140-618 on AIX 64 bit standalone server . We would like to

update the kernel to latest level. Pls suggest how do we proceed.

-> You could use the MaxDB tool SDBUPD to apply the database patch,

more details could be found in the SAP note:

-> If it's not what are you looking for, please let us know more about you plan

"to update the kernel to latest level". What upgrade are you planning?

Actually we running Maxdb software on the kenel version 7.6.01 BUILD 008-123-140-618 on AIX 64 bit machine. We would like to update the current version to the latest version 7.6.04.15 available in market place, but we have slight confusion over here.Actually in market place the available package versions are

MAXDB7604_15-20000535.SAR MAXDB 7.6.04.15 Server Package 15 Info 126877 15.07.2008

MAXDBART7604_15-20000535.SAR MAXDB 7.6.04.15 Applicationruntime Package 15 Info 65431 15.07.2008

MAXWEBJ7604_15-20000535.SAR MAXDB 7.6.04.15 Web Services Package 15 Info 26188 15.07.2008

We would like to know which package version we install on standalone maxdb software.We are using DB for content server.

The package MAXDBART7604_15-20000535.SAR is needed for the update of the MAXDB/liveCache client software, SAP Note 649814.

The package MAXWEBJ7604_15-20000535.SAR is needed, if you want to use the MaxDB Web Tools,

SAP Note No. 856940.
