Characteristics value auto update

While creating material master for

Material- Metal ore.

Current stock is 100kg

Follwing Characteristics has to be captured in the classification view.

1.Cobalt content%- 20

2.Cobalt aboulte content-20kg

Here for the Characteristics (cobalt aboulte content value )is dynamic in nature.

If the Metal ore. stock is 100kg then 20kg.

If the Metal ore. stock is 200kg then 40kg.

So it depends on the stock of metal ore.

Cobalt absolute content value= metal ore stock X Cobalt content%

Example:

100kg X 20%= 20KG OF COBALT ABSOLUTE CONTENT

Pl guide me how to capture this.

Hi,

You can very well handle this by means of a reference characteristic and ur char on cobalt absolute content.

Create 3 characteristics

Cobalt%

Stock---

Cobalt Absolute quantity

The char Stock should be a reference characteristic and it should refer to the table and field where the material and stock are available.

Now the Cobalt Absolute quantity can be calculated using a procedure dependency extracting the value of the stock from hte value of the characteristic Stock.

Please explore this littlebit, this functionality is very much possible.
