Production resource tool

Dear all,

We are having a scenario where in the a metalic plate is used as production resource tool. The plate is again retrived at the end of process and can be used again.

How can we map this scenario whether the plate should be included in BOM or in routing. Secondly the plate undergoes a process and comes back as semi-finished product. So we have a PRT as plate and semi-finish plate.

Are u using one of the process

1. A hammer tool which can be used in process called flattening steel, and end of the process you will use the same tool for some other process-

For this maintian this in PRT in Routing.

You can maintain and service this tool say after specified period u will allocate some time for this.

2. Substance like catalyst that can be used for the process, and end of the process u can extract catalyst.

For this you can maintain as BOM. If say beginning of the process u add 10 ml of catalyst and end of the process u get exact same amount, without any change in costing terms you can say this as byproduct (default)

If say 10ml yields 10 +/- 5 ml then mainain as co-product by just turning check mark.

After semifinised product do you consume that plate for your finished product ? If not then dont use this plate as BOM material.
