How to talk with handling machine having different data format...

Hi experts

I am trying to connect my web dynpro java system wither other system , Which is a handling machine .

I Mean sender system is a handling machine which is having data into bit map format or in binary format. I want to get the data from handling machine without any middleware .

Can i change the bitmap data or binary data into the text format using java.

If yes then can u help me out with the PDF or valuable document.

yes using XML what should i do .

How to proceed for that application . is there any open source is available ?

or if any xml parser are available then please can u let me know.
