Hi,
In remote role assignment mode, a user administrator on a NetWeaver portal (the consumer) assigns local users to NetWeaver remote roles residing on another portal (the producer)
In remote delta link mode, a content administrator on a NetWeaver portal (the consumer) browses the Portal Catalog of a remote NetWeaver portal (the producer) and creates remote delta links to relevant roles, worksets, pages, and iViews. Once the remote delta link objects have been created locally as remote delta links on the consumer portal, a content administrator manages this content as local objects.
A content administrator on a NetWeaver consumer portal can view the portlets and iViews exposed by a remote non-SAP or NetWeaver producer portal, respectively. The content administrator on the consumer can then create local iViews that reference the remote portlets or iViews on the producer; these local iViews are called proxy-to-portlet iViews.
Typically, this mode is intended to support any NetWeaver consumer portal wanting to consume portlets residing on a non-SAP producer. It also supports NetWeaver-to-NetWeaver connections; however, using the remote delta link mode has numerous advantages over WSRP application sharing
Thanks and regards,
Kris

Inorder to integrate content coming from non-sap portals you should use WSRP method
