Hi experts,

Our ICM dies for second time with the following messages in trace:

[Thr 8184] *** ERROR => no more free event-flags. [mpixx.c 4327]

[Thr 8184] *** ERROR => MpiIEvtOpen(0) failed: 11 [mpixx.c 1144]

[Thr 8184] *** ERROR => IcmConnInitMpi: MpiCreate2 failed (rc=11) [icxxconn.c 3973]

[Thr 6416] *** ERROR => no more free event-flags. [mpixx.c 4327]

[Thr 6416] *** ERROR => MpiIEvtOpen(0) failed: 11 [mpixx.c 1144]

[Thr 6416] *** ERROR => IcmConnInitMpi: MpiCreate2 failed (rc=11) [icxxconn.c 3973]

It runs on windows 2003 ( 640, kernel level 175)

Note 715400 suggest to increase mpi/max_pipes to 20000, but how many semaphores win 2003 can supply?

Thank you in advance

Regards

Vladimir

Hi,

Collect the necessary error information, and report the incident to SAP support organization.

1. /usr/sap/<SID>/<INSTANCE_NAME>/work/dev_icm* files from the instance work folder.

2. Check exit code of the J2EE server in MMC. Navigate to the <SAP system> -> <Java_instance> -> AS Java -> Process Table subnode. Provide the exit code in the ticket if any.

3. Start the ICM (if not automatically started from the framework) u2013 select ICM from the MMC -> Java AS Process Table, right mouse click, select Start or Restart. The ICM should start in seconds, startup of more than 1 minute is not a normal situation, itu2019s better to try to restart again.

4. If ICM constantly fails to start, you probably need to restart the whole instance

Hi Jayakumar,

Thank you for answer!

It seems that it was OS issue...
