Identification of proper material Type

Dear Experts,

My problem is to identify the material type which can track the history of material life and issue is booked as consumed only after it exceeds expected life cycles usage.

i am explaining the scenario below.

1. material is issued to plant /cost center from stores

but consumption is only updated once the shop floor

gives report that material has reached expected life cycles

then finance will only update the consumption of material

please advice on what material type to be used and what are the views and fileds to be given imporance.
