Can anybody give me some inputs on Serial numbering of material.

How and When Serial numbering of material is done?

Its implications on Inventory management?

Hi,

It determines the conditions and business transactions for issuing serial numbers to serialized materials.

You must enter the serial number profile in the material master record for materials that need serial numbers

Use T code IQ01 to create serial numbers.

You can use this component to identify and differentiate between individual items of material. This component therefore ideally supplements the material master record, which may contain all data for describing and managing a piece of material, but which does not enable you to differentiate between individual items of that material.

Sales and Distribution

Quality Management

Inventory Management and Physical Inventory

Repetitive manufacturing
