Hi,

Basically LTP is simulative MRP to simulate and see all the results like production capacity plan/ raw material plan/ profit margin. here we are using the same master data like material master, recipe, BOM etc

In MS31 - you create a LTP version where you can mention the PIR version where you enter the planning data in MD61.

Please refer the link for complete details,

Hi

There are two different types of Planning.

1.Operative Planning 2. Long Term Planning

The Operative Planning is what we do in MD01 and MD02.

Long term planning will be done for the Materials which are taking long lead time to procure.

It will be done in simulation mode and it will be transferred to Regular operative planning.

For the long term planning the following steps are needed,

1.create the PIRs in simulation version. (MD61)

2.Create Planning scenario in MS31 assign the simulation version of PIR, then save and release.

3.Run the Long term planning run in MS01/ MS02.

4.Transfer the Planning result to Operative Planning thro' MD43.

5. Then check the planning result of the raw material in MD04.

Pre-requisite: In the material master MRP type should be fixing type.

Plz revert back if not clear

Bala

Hi Deepu

in MS31 go to Tab Planned Independent requirements and click it you will get a pop up window where you could enter the Versions to be used for this Planning Scenario.
