Apply Component to existing IDES ECC 6 server ( apply best practice BB)

Hi there,

Can anyone teach me how to add component to existing IDES ECC 6 server? Actually, i want to apply best practice building block to my existing server. I've gone thru some doc, but still dont know where and how to start.

Hi,

First you should not do that in an IDES installation, also, to apply best practices building blocks you need an specific SP applied (depending in your country) to your system and probably you won't get that specific SP stack for your IDES system.

If you want to install any add on to any other system (not IDES) you can do it with SAINT, if you want to enable any other comp. you can use SFW5.

IDES is a DEMO system so it is supposed to have everything on it already, you can only use the stacks that can be downloaded from service.sap.com and nothing else.

My suggestion is to discard IDES and install a "normal" system or install it on the same server if you have enough space.
