asset depreciation

Dear all,

I want to know about the asset management . when i purchase the asset in january . from which month onwards i can provide depreciation. pl clarify.

Hi,

In the asset masterdate you can say when the depreciation start date is. When you have set up a depreciation key with the correct period control the system fill in the depreciation start data automatecly.

You have to start depreciating your asset from the date of use of that asset.

So give the start date of the usage of that asset in the depreciation start date column in your asset master. System automatically calculates depreciation from that date.

HI,

Basically when ever you purchased any asset, system calculated depreciation based on capitalization date.Suppose you purchase an asset on jan 10th capitalization date is on 20th jan system calculate depreciation 20 th onwards.
