Enterprise Structure(Deletion of Storage Locations)

Hi Gurus

I am new to SAP MM module. I have created 5 storage locations in which i need to delete 3 locations.

What all precautions shouls i keep in mind before deleting the 3 storage locations. Kindly explain in details.

hi,

before deleting a storage location you should take the following precaautions:

1.all the stock shoul be removed from those storage locations( mvt. type 311).

2.all the materials exists for those storage location should be blocked.(mm06)

3.all the physical inventory document should be closed.(check list from mi24)

1. stock at that loc should be zero

2. there should be no open pur doc for the loc

If you have Stock in that 3 Storage Locations then First you Transfer the Stock (Should be nil) into another Storage Locations and Delete the Storage Locations in Trxn code OX09

If you have Extended / Created Material to that Storage Location then Set the Deletion Flag using MM06 at Stor Locn Level & save.

You can Perform the Stock Transfer using MB1B / MIGO 311 Movement type.

Hi,

If you go to XO09 and delete storage locations directly, system will allow you to do so but you should take following precautions;

1. Flag materials for deletion for the storage location in MM06 (Optional)

2. Stock in the storage location should be nil (if stock is there then move to other storage location using movement type 311 in MB1B)

3. None of the Physical Inventory Documents should be open for the storage location (Check list in MI24 and then delete in MI02)
