Hi Experts

The online backup on the Quality servers are failing regularly.

Status = 230 : the specified policy does not exist in the configuration database

you used a policy that does not exist. ask your NetBackuop admin to tell you which policy you can use, then, adapt the *.utl file accordingly.

Thanks all of you for your support.

yes we are using Netbackup.

The policy name is not specified in our .utl file as we have different policies for each day.

The backup is running fine on other servers and only causing problems for this one.

What is the meaning of return code 2 here.

it's the return code that program BACKINT returned to you. Everything other than '0' is unacceptable.

again, this is not a SAP problem.

you need to contact your NetBAckup admin and get help from him.

Are you using third party tool for backup. think problem in your third party tool.

Looks like Veritas Netbackup to me. Can you please verify the policy names, i think you should have it in the initQ10_HOT.utl file:

policy <yourpolicy>

The same policy needs to be set up in veritas.
