Can function modules in apo be called in r/3

Hi Gurus,

I need to do atp check in apo externally before order creation. Haven't found any bapi in R3 that would do this. However while looking online I found Bapi_apo_availability_check. Would like to know if this bapi can be used and how will I call it in R/3?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

since BAPI's are remote enabled ,they can be called in APO.but we have already have FM's in R/3 for that.
