Unable to create Financial Report template.

Hi,

When trying to delete an account by mistake the template got removed from the database.

It was suprising that on deletion of the template the system does not prompt for any message whatsoever.

I tried adding a new template in the system, which generated an error "This entry already exists...."

As a result we needed to use copy express to copy over the template from one database to the other.

On trying to copy over we did not select the dependencies to copy over.

What will be the after effect of it?

Will accounts get affected by any chance?

Please comment.

Regards.

Whenever you copy anything from another database, you have to take caution and check the result intensively. The best practice is to copy to the most recent restore from backup to test environments. That will reduce many negative impact if any.

BTW, "account" in your post is not clear. That is a general name for GL account. Please choose other words to express yourself better.

Thanks,

Gordon

Thanks Gordon,

What i meant by accounts was will financial entries get affected by such a copy of the template.

We needed to know the financial implication before we go ahead with the update.

Since all data in a specific database are different from each other, better to start testing. If you just copy a few PLD, it shouldn't be affected much to your database.

Thanks,

Gordon
