Conntrans errors after changing computer name.

We are in the process of changing some computer names that do not have the Corp standard and when we remove the computer from the Widnows domain and then re add it, Conntransing breaks. It gives me an "error in data transfer process. When I look in the transferservice.log it is giving errors about the decrypte failing.

So far I have not been able to find anything on the web. Any help would be good.

We did resolve the issue over a call. But let me put down a consulting Note released after our call.

Thank you for the idea's gentlemen. I had already tried the reassign in the client console. I tried this morning resetting the sql server name by doing an sp_dropserver @@servername and sp_addserver @@ servername but this did not seem to help either. I am going to remove some reg entris and a couple of sql tables that may help and I will post more later

You would need to reassign the mobile client to the site on the CRM server. This is a security feature which ensures that people can not fake the laptop's identity and pull data from the server.

Hi,

I guess you also need to change the SQL instance name too... check the SQL transaction help for that...
