The business package BPERP5COM10_0-20001067.SCA, BPERP5ESS10_0-10003288.SCA, BPERP5MSS10_0-10003289.SCA contain the portal content (ie Views, Roles etc.).

The components PCUI_GP600, ESS600, MSS600 contain the webdynpro parts. Once these are deployed you'll be able to set up the JCOs.

As Sandeep Tudumu said go through this document step by step:

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/21eb036a-0a01-0010-25a3-b2224432...

It contains all neccessary steps. Deploy all mentioned components, set up all systems, jcos etc. and you'll be done.

Yes , ESS600 is required.

After it is deployed JCo will be available.

Take the latest release. Just make sure it matches the version of ESS and MSS. Since the version is 600 that would be PCUI_GP600 Patch xxx .

I assume you've deployed the business package SCAs containing the portal content as well.

BPERP5COM10_0-20001067.SCA

BPERP5ESS10_0-10003288.SCA

BPERP5MSS10_0-10003289.SCA

The content should be located under:

Portal-Content->Content provided by SAP->Content for Enduser->Employee Self-Services

Hope it helps.

Srikanth,

Have you done the backend customization in the HR module yet?

Deploying the BP will give you the required roles and once you click on anything, it would show you errors which are generally pertaining to the JCOs,the backend configuration and the permissions.

Cheers,

You should probably post the error message.

BTW to be able to run ESS you'll have to define JCO, systems etc. Have you done the necessary configuration or did you just deploy the packages?
