ABC analysis in MRP Context

Hi,

I want to know is there any way we can do MRP Run & stock monitoring of material by ABC analysis & if so how?

Basically the requirement is we have classified materials depending on their value as A, B & C category.

Now our requirement is when we will run MRP we should be able to monitor the status of planning as per ABC material categorisation.

You cannot run MRP based on the ABC indicator. However you can process your MRP lists based on the ABC classification of the material. In the MD06 listing under the restrict selection box go to the Material data tab and choose the materials with the specific indicator and process the lists accordingly.

The other choice would be to create product groups containing your specific materials ie only A items,B items only etc and run MRP only for that product group.
