Hi experts,
I have two questions-
1. Can I use BDC in my workflow? Will it lead to performance issues if it is Asynchronous? i.e., I want to proceed to the next work item only after completion of this step.
2. Is it a better option to create the BDC in a separate program and call it from the Workflow (using SUBMIT)?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!
Thanks.

Hi,
Yes you can use it but the performance issues will be there if you do it using submit.
Instead use rule step and in that call custom function module and in that use your BDC by that way you can assure the execution of that BDC. at last fill actor tab with corresponding agents.
Revert Backl.
Hope Magic Works!

1.Yes we can use BDC in workflow infect in many cases u can't proceed without it.
I don't think it will hamper the performance if written properly
2. Instead of creating a program and calling using submit u can create a FM inside that write the code for BDC and call the FM.
Hope this helps.
