Creation of project profile

Dear Gurus...

May I know how to create project profile in PS?

And what are all fields need to mention in the same.

Hi Parimal

You can create project profile using OPSA

The values maintained in the project profile determine the functionality of certain areas of the Project System. The sections that must be maintained for the project profile are Basic data, Time scheduling, Costs/revenues/finances, Organizational data.

In Control tab page:

Proj Type- One can define criteria for a Project type (E.g. Customer Project, Cost Project, Capital Investment, Service Project)

Field Key u2013 The entry fields that can be user defined for an activity, activity element or WBS element.

Project stock- Type of Project stock i.e. whether it is valuated, non- valuated or no stock can be defined.

Automatic Requirement Grouping - This indicator determines whether automatic requirements grouping takes place on the Grouping WBS element for the whole project.

DIP Profile u2013 DIP profile i.e. Dynamic item processor profile is a profile that the system uses to summarize data (for example, line items, and totals records) into dynamic items in sales price calculation, resource-related billing, or data determination.

In Organisation tab page:

Organizational data like Company code, Controlling area, Business Area, Plant, Profit Center, Project Currency

In Planning board Dates tab page:

Project planning board is a graphical planning board in Project System that is based on the Gantt chart.

WBS Scheduling Profile : It specifies profile for WBS scheduling.

Factory Calender: This uniquely identifies the factory calendar valid for the plant.

Network profile : It contains default values and parameters for controlling the processing of networks, such as control keys for activities.

Plan.board profile : It is the key which indicates a profile for the project planning board.

In Controlling tab page:

Controlling data such as Object class, Indicator for Statistical Cost & Integrated Planning, Planning profile, Budget profile, Costing Sheet, Interest profile, Settlement profile, and Settlement rule strategy can be entered in this field.

Dear Parimal,

Follow the steps as mentioned below.

1. First of all, create a project profile in Customizing. Use profile 1004 as a template to copy from, and tailor it to your needs.

2.Create the project profile TEST##

Use profile 1004 to copy from.

Project System-Customizing

Structures-Operative Structures-Work Breakdown

Structure (WBS)-Create Project Profile

Select the line containing profile 1004

Click the u201CCopy as ...u201D icon

Change the number and text of the project profile (as

specified above)

Click the u201CTransfer Enteru201D icon

3.Change some of the settings in your profile (TEST##):

Select line with TEST##

Click the u201CDetailsu201D icon

Select various tab pages as shown below

3.1 Control tab page:

Field Name : Values

Proj. type :CP

Only one root : Check this box

Proj. summ. MastDa :Check this box

Substitution group box : PSSUB01

WBS elements field :

WBS sts. prof.: None

Project stock group box : Select this radiobutton

u201Cvaluated stocku201D radiobutton

Automatic requirements grouping : Deselect this checkbox

Project summarization group box

All WBS elements : Check this box

Leave other fields as they are

3.2 Organization tab page:

Field Name:Values

Leave other fields as they are

Plg board/dates tab page:

Sched. scenario :1

Leave other fields as they are

3.3 Controlling tab page:

Field Name:Values

Budget profile:None

Leave other fields as they are

Save your project profile, and exit the project profile transaction

dear,

go to spro and go create project profile,then you should assign orginization data as co area,co code,profit center,business area and controlling paramater as Planning Profile,intrest profile,project type,investment profile,satelment profile.

in n/t profile need to define 4 parameter

1.n/t type

2.paramater for n/t type.

3.Sxcheduling parameter.

4.confermation parameter.

thru OPSA we can create project profile,Here u can define parameters like budget profile ,Network profile. etc
