according to my knowledge 999 lines can be created for a po

and assets for one line item 99 lines u can create.

The Maximum Limit is 999 only.

You can use maximum 99999 line item of po.

Hi,

The technical limitation is 5 digits for the item number, which means 99999 items should be the maximum. But, Financial documents only have 3 digits for item number, means you can only have 999 item lines. So consider FI limit also during PO creation with maximum no. of line items.
