Hi Sharad,

I did same certification which you are suffering. I completed in July-August 2006.

Though I don't remember Topics name formally. Below is the content which you will learn it.

This certification is having more weightage on R/3 PP than APO.

There are Total 4 Books & each is covered in a Week.

1) Overview about SAP Planning (Both R/3 & APO) There are Total 5 chapters which you will learn. Demand Management (R/3), MRP (R/3), Demand Planning (APO), SNP (APO), PP/DS (APO). It's Overall picture of SAP Planning functionality.

2) SAP R/3 & APO Master Data - Again it will take you in more details of R/3 Master data (Material Master, BOM, Work Center, Routing) & Brief overview of APO Master data (Loc, Product, PPM, Resource).

3) R/3 Discrete Manufacturing - All in all details of R/3 Production Order Execution. Interfacing of R/3 & APO.

4) R/3 Repetitive Manufacturing - It's almost about R/3 Production execution in Repetitive Manu. Scenario.

In Short it's blending of R/3 & APO. I am not sure whether you want to learn only R/3 or APO. Even if you want to learn APO then also I don't think that any course can give you full out of it because APO as such is very Vast Package.

I would Definitely suggest you to go for it if you willing to learn R/3 & APO Both.

In my case i worked on R/3 & APO both after certification.

Hope it helps you. Would like to see your feedback on it.

Hi Hardik ,

Thanks for immediate reply.

I have worked for both PP 4.7 and APO 4.0 ( PPDS , SNP , DP along with BW 3.5) module. Actually I was giving more weightage on APO while studing.I am already working as PP and APO Consultant and now going to appear for Certitifcation this month.

From your feedback, I think I need to study more on R/3 side. As I was not having detail syallbus for said certtifcation I started with following topices.

1. SAP Overview

2. Supply Chain Planning Overview (++)

3. Supply Chain Manufacturing Overview

4. Master Data: Engineering/Design (++)

5. Master Data: Work Scheduling (++)

6. Master Data Integration (SAP R/3-SAP APO) (++)

7. Production Orders (+++)

8. Integration of Transaction Data (SAP R/3-SAP APO)

9. Repetitive Manufacturing (++)

10. Capacity Planning

11. Solution Manager

12. Master Data Integration (SAP R/3-SAP APO) (++)

13). Production Planning Part 1 (++) includes Demand Management MRP Basics  MRP Evaluations

14). Production Planning Part 2 (SAP R/3-MRP) (++) Which includes

 Demand Management

 Material Requirements Planning

 Evaluation of Production Planning

 Master Production Scheduling

 Long-Term Planning

 MRP Areas

15).Integration of Transaction Data (SAP R/3-SAP APO)

16). Production Planning Part 2 (SAP APO-PP/DS) (++) which includes

 Consumption-Based MRP

 Special Planning Strategies

 MRP Run

 Technical Processes of Requirements Planning

 Processing the MRP Results

Actually above topics are from mySAP Supply Chain Management - Planning (2003) and mySAP Supply Chain Management - Mfg. (2003). But studing above all topics looks very heavy to prepare for certification with limited time.

Is Solution Manager Overview was also part of your certifcation ?

Can you please thore some light on above topic and suggest some useful guidelines further so that it will help me to prepare with proper direction ?

Waiting for your valuable reply..............Thanks in advance.

Hi Sharad,

You need to Cover Topics from mySAP Supply Chain Management - Mfg. (2003) That is the Certification you are appearing for.

There will be Total 80 Questions. 8-10 Will be from APO & Remaining from R/3.

I think after Working on R/3 & APO Certification should be a easy Task.

Some Of the Questions i can recall are:

1) ATP Full form (Easiest in Certification)

2) There is one Logical Quest. on Material type (FERT, HALB....)

3) Prepare Repititive Manu. Book well (There were Some Tricky Ques. from It)

Ques. Break up is

Book 1 - 8 quest.

Book -2 - 10 Quest.

Book -3 - 12 Quest.

Book -4 - from rep. Manu. - 8 quest. , Solman - 3-5 Quest. Read SolMan chapter from Book 4 & Mug it Up because you can get these marks easily & helps you a lot in clearing Certification. (However i made mistakes in this part).

Hope It helps you,
