BOM problems, please help.

My problems is:

The same product has part of component is different when export to different country. For the BOM, i need to create the different material number to create itself's BOM or the same product can be create the different BOM?

Hi,

I think you shouldn't create new material number if the goods are physically the same.

You can have several different BOMs for the same product (material number). These BOMs are called alternative BOMs. Please check what SAP help says:

If i created the multipl BOM, example as below:

Material(Product): S-480938N

BOM: BOM1, BOM2, BOM3

BOM1: export to US (Sales item1, delivery date 2009.01.01))

BOM2: export to Canada(Sales item2, delivery date 2009.01.01)

BOM3: for the Online Shop (Sales item3, delivery date 2009.01.01)

Sales order have 3 items base on different route

When run 'MRP', how to decide the BOM is for our requirement?

You can use same usage to create alternative BOM. To create alt BOm, procedure is same as to create a main BOM. System will show alternate BOm added in below while creating second BOM for same material.

By using tcode C223, you can create prod version.enter your material no. System will show popup window. Inthis enter routing & BOM. For BOM selection click alternative Bom field in Bill of material area. System will show all alt BOM. From that you can select the right one.

Hi,

I think you should go trough the second link sent by me in my first message.

In sales process, you can asign different BOMs to SO items using (sales) Order BOM. This is not the same as multiple (alternative) BOMs, the concept is different - it works trough variant configuration.

So, I suggest you to read SAP help and/or ask help on SD forum.

(As for multiple BOMs: if you got seaparate PldOrds for your SO items, you could assign the suitale production versiion to each of them. But please consider the use of Order BOM)
