There is any tutorial or example to create a crystal report runtime designer which the end-users could use to modify the existing reports?

Exemple: moving fields or columns, changing logos or page header, etc.

The code for our designers is protected so we don't have any samples that would show you how to create one.

We do have some options that you can use to modify reports (Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports Explorer) without having to install anything - depending on your platform and what you have installed on your machine - but nothing that will show you how to build it yourself.

Well you should.

In the past, i had to develope several applications which inclued ActiveReport reports. This tool gives the possibility to create a lite version of a designer. In this way, it gives, to the end-users, more flexibility.

can you tell me more about Crystal Report Explorer?!?

Crystal Reports Explorer is an add on for Business Objects Enterprise. It allows you to manipulate a Crystal Report at run time by moving fields around, changing the data source, that sort of thing. As per the previous note, all of the code is protected and thus not exposed to modification.

If you are just looking for something that is freely distributable to your users, you may want to consider Crystal Reports for Eclipse. The tool is free, and there is a very simple embedded designer within the IDE that you can use to modify reports.

The embedded designer is built using our Java Print Engine; currently you can't use it outside of the IDE, however if you are looking for something simple that you can give to end users to manipulate reports this may work as well.
