Dear all,

We are running EP6 SP15 with a back-end SAP sytsem ERP 2004 (ECC5.0) with existing ESS and MSS functionality. The appropriate Business Packages for ESS and MSS based on XSS 100 are installed here. (old content)

A new instance of NW04s EP7 Portal has been created which is tied to an upgraded SAP R/3 system version ERP 2005 (ECC6.0). The appropriate Business packages and XSS 600 components are installed on NW04s EP7 Portal. (new content)

The old content (roles, worksets, pages and iviews) is customized. Can this be moved/transported to the new instance of NW04s EP7? What will be the imapct of this?

This was done but the roles did not transport correctly as they were delta linked to the original source which does not exist in the new instance.

Also, the new content is very different from the old content. The user interface is also very different.

Will we need to build the roles, worksets, pages and iviews from scratch in the new Portal instance EP7?

Has anyone faced a similar situation and what was the outcome? Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards, Neeta

Hi Neeta,

If you did any customisation around the ESS packages earlier in the 6.0 portal (i am referring to the WDJ code) then yes you can move that....to the new server.

Roles -- had u created new roles in 6.0 you would have been able to transport those....but now...u will have to recreate them in the new system.

Thanks,

GLM

Hi Neeta,

As per my understanding , If those customized business package original sources dont exist now , you should develop those from scratch.

If original source still exists in your landscape , try to do some modifications for linking .
