Visual Studio 2008 Windows App and Crystal Reports Viewer

Hello,

I have a Windows application developed in Visual Studio 2008 under the .Net Framework 2.0.

I also have Crystal Reports XI R2 SP4 Developer installed on my machine.

I downloaded and and added the latest merge modules to my project, and it gave me an error saying "Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms, Version=10.5.3700.0..."

After some research it seems that the new practice is not to use the merge modules, but a redistributable that installs separately. So, I removed them and tried that.

I have read through quite a bit of documentation, but I can't seem to find answers to the following two questions:

1) After installing the Crystal package on the user's computer my error message has changed to "The type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument' threw an exception." Why is this, and how do I fix it?

2) We need to have it all install at the same time and not have the user run two installations. How can this be accomplished?
