In APO
go to change mode of the planning area
Choose EXTRAS from the top Tool bar and choose "Data Extraction Tools" option
Click on the "Data Backup" Button then "Generate Infocube from planning area"
Fill in the name of the Cube and the rest and you should have created the remote cube
You still need to create the infosource link
The other way of doing it is from RSA1
from the context menu of the infoarea choose Create Infocube
Click on "based on DTP for direct access" and choose "with infosource 3.x" and fill in the infosource
Assuming you are extracting the data from the Planning area into a Remote cube, this is normal Infocube created with the Infosource/Data source that is created in APO. please follow the steps in the below link. Basically this cube is useful if you need to carry out reporting with a BI front end.
