Hi all ,
Plz explain what is repost.I am still not clear with it.
thanks,
Madhavi
hi,
We use the Repost function type, like the Copy function type, to post the key figure values for existing characteristic combinations to other combinations. In contrast to copying, the key figure values for the From values are deleted.
You use the table for key figure selection to determine which key figures you want to repost.
In the From and To Values for Reposting table, you can either create a simple reposting process or multiple reposting processes within a planning function.
The following rules apply:
● Both the From and To values for reposting have to be single values.
● Both the From and To values are changed and have to be included in the filter that is transferred to the planning function.
● When you repost, the key figure values are always added to the To values.
Hope it helps......

We typically use this function for the following purposes:
u2022 Organizational changes
u2022 Changing characteristics assignment
There is a special repost function to realign historical data according to the characteristic relationships.
Suppose you have data as follows:
Division Program Product Sales
Civil Propeller Versatile 100
Civil Jet Fast 50
Civil Transport Big 120
Military Scouts Search 110
Military Logistics Move 150
Then your organization undergoes a change and the product "BIG" no longer belongs to "Civil" Division.
Right now the product "BIG" belongs to the division "MILITARY" and program "LOGISTICS". That means the above record (in italic) needs to be replaced by the following record.
Military Logistics Big 120
The final result should look like:
Division Program Product Sales
Civil Propeller Versatile 100
Civil Jet Fast 50
Military Logistics Big 120
Military Scouts Search 110
Military Logistics Move 150
This kind of scenario can be achieved with the help of repost function.
The fields to be changed, in this case, would be Division and Program.
Please award points if helpful.

Repost function will copy the from values to to values and then deletes the from values.
Say Repost the data Version V1 amount 100 to version V2.
Version Amount
V1 100 before repost
After repost
V2 100
V1 -100
This is used when organizational changes come in to picture and data needs to be changed corresponding to those changes, or we have planned data for wrong values of characteristics and we need to correct them to correct characteristic combination.

You can create a simple repost function and observe the data before and after running the function.
