additional item information in an outbound delivery

Hi experts,

Is it possible to add extra item information for an item line in an outbound delivery without editing the material master data for that item? I tried to do "goto>item>text", but then I get the following message: "Text maintenance is not possible; text det. proc. is not maintained".

I tried to edit the item description field with success, but somehow this is not printed on the picklist.

Please advice. Thanks a lot.

Although that might be the solution, I do not have access to that transaction. I guess I should contact other people to arrange that. I was actually also hoping for other solutions....maybe you guys know any?

Hi,

Go to t-code VOTXN and then check whether text procedure has been maintained for the mentioned delivery type or not.

The error message you got means that configuration for delivery texts has not been done.

You will need to configure text determination for delivery.

Logistics Execution -> Shipping -> Basic Functions -> Text Control.
