In our business requirement, one of the existing plant is being shut down & hence from the near future, o transcations will physically happen in it.

Hi,

For blocking a plant, in that plant no stock should be available & no movements should take place.

Then go to oms2 & remove qty & value updation, similarrlly block all the materials of that particular plant.

Hi,

You can mark all the materials maintained in the plant for deletion, this will stop all the transactions using the material master.

or

U can assign "total block" in material master of all materials belonging to that plant in "Plant specific material statuses" . For this u can use mass maintenance also

Hi Ravi

That would block those with Material master data. How about the transactions for those w/o master data ??

Hi,

To work without master data remove the assignment of plant from company code.

Hi,

If you want to block the Plant for any purpose do the settings as per below

1) In Material master u can block plant status or use the MM/PP Status field in MARC table to block production at plant level.

2 ) Deactivate Valuation Grouping Code in Tcode - OMWD, then there is no stock movement and invoice can be made/posted.

3) Check the authorization object M_MSEG_WWA Plant for all the User level.
