Hi,
In the ABAP world we use the 'Open SQL' to get the support for different databases which is very powerfull.
But now we are looking at the J2EE opportunities
Does the use of 'Open SQL for java' mean i need a SAP WEB Application server as the J2EE server or is it available as open source so i can for example use JBoss as the J2EE server.
regards

Hi,
Open SQL for Java is a layer that enables database portability when using SAP Web Application Server Java (as you can see, the concept is similar to the one in the ABAP world).
You can read more about the infrastructure here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/18/d5507b615b42469d052dfae2ac4e3a/frameset.htm
Best regards,
Zornitsa
