Hi All,

We have the DEV as domina contoller and we are configuring the QA as backup domoan contoller , but if the entire system of DEV is down like total DEV system is down the backup domain contoller cananot access the trans dir whicha re there on DEV now, so we are planning to move the trans dir to a shared directory in backup domain contoller.

How to move the present Trans direcory to new shared one and what are the changes we have to do in TMS for the changes to take effect, is there any effect on current transports..

Please suggest..

Thanks,

Hi,

First of all if your /usr/sap/trans dir is located on any other location (like storage) then you can easily move this dir from dev to QAS.

simply dismount this dir from DEV and mount it on QAS. then start nfs service on QAS and export this dir with appropriate rights. and mount this shared dir on your development using nfs.

If trans dir is located on your DEV server then you have to create same dir on QAS and copy all the content of trans dir from DEV to QAS. Then start nfs service on QAS and export trans dir, mount trans dir on DEV using nfs.

This way you can transfer your transport dir from DEV to QAS.
