material reservations in sales order

Hi All,

In ATP when we check the sales requirement flag, once the sales order is created the material is reserved for that sales order and no other sales orde can steal that material.

My question is...what is the difference in creating a reservation for sales order using MB21, mvt type 261 and checking the reservations flag in ATP.

Dear Sanjay

MB21 is not for SD but it is PP / MM related.

For information, we create Production Order in co01 and if you want to reserve the stock against this production order, you have to reserve the same via MB21.

I feel you are confused with the terminology of the text "Order" in MB21 screen. It is not referring to sale order but production order.
